The Baobab tree is fondly called the “Tree of Life”. The kernels contained within the Baobab fruit pod yield a rich, golden scented oil traditionally used by African women to protect their beautiful skin against the harsh African savannah environment. The oil has strong natural moisturizing properties and is commonly used to both prevent and cure dry skin conditions of the face and body. Baobab oil contains omega 3, 6 & 9 essential fatty acids that contribute towards the maintenance of healthy skin.

1. MatsiMela embossed glycerine soap – 200g
Our soaps are manufactured from a glycerine base, ensuring the soap is gentle enough to use on your face. It has a rich lather & lasts if used correctly.

2. Hand wash – 500ml
Use just a little at a time and see how long it lasts. Its lathering / foaming capabilities are very good. Over and above this the fragrance lingers on your skin for quite a while. The hand wash also leaves a silky feeling on your skin.

3. Body butter – 200ml
Our body butter is rich and soothing, creamy and buttery. It has a 10% shea butter component, making it not your average body butter. Use sparingly and see how long it lasts. Excellent for dry skin that needs quenching.

4. Massage oil – 100ml
The massage oil has a number of unique oils blended together to make a truly special product:
Avo oil – this oil has a large particle size enabling the oil to stay on the skin for longer.
Arnica oil – this oil has healing properties as well as soothing properties for tired muscles
Mafura oil – excellent moisturizing properties
Vit E – excellent for the maintenance of healthy skin

5. Lip balm – 20ml
A fruity almost buttery lip balm that is most moisturizing. It has a Vit E component as well as jojoba oil, beeswax & lanolin oil. Use just a little at a time and enjoy soft supple lips.

6. Sugar Scrub – 200ml
This product is a delicious blend of mineral oil, fragrance as well as essential oils.
Use to exfoliate dry skin and be moisturized at the same time. Excellent for an all over body exfoliation.

7. Fizz Balls – 130g
This product will add fragrance and a bit of fun to a warm bath.

8. Bath Soak – 200ml
MatsiMela uses natural Kalahari Bath Salt.

Our salt comes from an area in the Kalahari which was never inhabited or used for industrial purposes. Here a crystal clear underwater stream runs through a rock formation that originates from the Dwyka strata era and is around 280 million years old. This rock formation stores salt crystals that are washed out by this water and the salt brine runs into an underground salt lake. From there it gets forwarded to the surface where it is sun dried and packaged. Our salt remains pure, natural and totally untreated. It still contains all the minerals that are so essential for our bodies’ health and our well-being.

During our research we have found that salt has an extremely cleansing and healing effect unlike a normal bath which extracts moisture from the skin. A bath with natural crystal salt allows the salt to be stored in the upper callous layer of the skin where it forms a protective barrier. The protective natural film of the skin remains and the skin does not dry out.

By adding only a handful of our Baobab fragranced Bath Salt to your bath, you will enjoy the healing, cleansing and relaxing effect. The minerals of the salt are absorbed through the skin, while through osmosis the body toxins are released into the water. Enjoy for at least ten minutes.

9. Tissue oil– 125ml
Our tissue oil is excellent for repairing & maintaining dry damaged & scarred skin. It contains a natural VIT E oil (non-synthetic) which aids in better absorption. It contains 10 % baobab oil & this oil is of course renowned for its excellent moisturising properties. It also contains wheat germ oil which in itself is naturally high in VIT E – these oils moisturise the skin & keep the skin soft & beautiful.
The product in non greasy & lightly fragranced & leaves the skin smooth & silky.
